MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL

Dear Delegates, Agents of the Courts and Commissioners, many thanks to you for being part of the 20th Session KenyaMUN Conference. We are happy to present this platform for you to debate, discuss and submit ideas on how to solve issues affecting our world today. Having taken time to prepare yourself by writing your position papers, submissions and the overall oral presentation that is required during conference, I commend for taking part in this conference. Your participation is highly valued as you are part of the system that ensures the future generations well-being is safe and secure. I also wish to take this opportunity to thank all the bureaus who have worked hand in hand to ensure that this week is nothing but successful. From the General Assembly, the International Court of Justice, the International Law Commission, Finance , Conference and Communications Bureaus, we appreciate you having worked tirelessly to ensure this Conference runs smoothly and is a success. Thank you for being part of this great milestone as together, we can make the world a better place. Moving forward, remember to do something today that your future self will thank you for!

What you need to know about #KMUN2021 Conference

The conference will run in February 2021. The Deadline for conference registration is December 2020. 

The conference will simulate 8 committees. These include SOCHUM, DISEC, SPECPOL, ECOSOC, ECOFIN, Security Council, Crisis, ICJ and ILC. All delegates should be in their specific committee rooms at all times except during breaks and lunch. Agents of the ICJ not submitting during the preliminaries will be assigned a waiting area.

All Delegates, Commissioners and Agents should be officially dressed on all conference days except on Wednesday, during the Global Village.
The Global Village is a day where delegates are free to dress as any culture in the world in their celebration. You are all encouraged to be as creative as possible.
For ladies, all skirts and dresses length should not go above 4 fingers while seated. No cleavage or thin straps for blouses are allowed.
For men, you should have your coat and tie on during session and your shirt should not be unbuttoned or untucked.
Failure to comply with this will result to clipping of badges. Where your badge is clipped more than twice you will be officially be disqualified from conference.

Mobirise

The conference will run in February 2021. Arrival time at the United Nations Office in Nairobi is at 8:00am and all committee sessions will start by 8:30am. Lateness will be penalized at chairs discretion.
Ensure you carry you badge at all times to be able to access the premises.
Notable events include opening ceremony on Monday morning which will be in the General Assembly room from 9:00am through to midday. The closing ceremony will be on Friday from 8:30am to 1:00pm.
On Wednesday the Global Village will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and is mandatory for all committees.

From the Central Business District while driving:
1. Drive along Murang'a Rd - 3 min (1.1 km)
2. Head northeast on Mondlane St toward Moi Ave - 79 m
3. Turn left onto Tom Mboya St - 250 m
4. Continue onto Murang'a Rd - 800 m
5. Follow Limuru Rd - 14 min (6.5 km)
6. Drive to your destination - 2 min (500 m)

From Central Business District using public means:
1. Walk to Odeon - 3 minutes
2. Board matatu number 11B - after about 12 stops
3. Alight at UNEP then walk down the road to your right (about 900m)

From Ngara bus terminus:
1. Board matatu number 11B to Ruaka
2. Alight at UNEP then walk down the road to your right (about 900m)

An online webinar discussing Sexual Harrassment took place on Saturday, 13th June 2020. The Zoom discussion had Jamal Gaddafi (TV Presenter), Ann Mvurya (Student Leader) and Adelle Onyango (Radio Presenter) as guests who managed to outline key factors related to this sensitive issue of Sexual Harrassment in our society today.
